Did you know about the Whistleblowing Directive❓

You will have heard of the Whistleblowing Directive. This covers the obligation for organisations to maintain an internal whistleblowing system for reporting illegal and unethical behaviour, selected offences or breaches of the law within the organisation.
As of 1 August 2023, contracting authorities and employers with more than 250 employees are obliged to maintain an internal notification system in the Czech Republic.
And from 15 December 2023, this law extends to organisations employing between 50 and 250 employees.
What is the internal notification system?
Every organization with more than 50 employees must have its own system through which to report illegal, unethical activities or violations of regulations. The system must be able to send reports anonymously 24/7.
The communication may be anonymous, in written or oral form, and must be forwarded to the appropriate person.
Another essential condition is to maintain a secure system for archiving individual notifications in electronic form.
What can TORIS do?

If someone in the organization wants to report an incident, they call the phone number they find in the Internal Notification System section and tell the AI what happened. The AI will not keep a voice recording, but will convert it to text and email it to the appropriate person for resolution.
This preserves 100% anonymity of the caller, they don’t have to type anything and there is no need for a voice editing program, our system does this for them.
What are the consequences for non-compliance?
Failure to comply with this obligation may result in a fine of up to CZK 1,000,000 for the organisation and up to CZK 100,000 for the responsible person. We therefore recommend that you do not delay in complying with the regulation.
